About The Role

Wren are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented IT Asset Manager to oversee the lifecycle of our company's IT assets, including hardware, software, and peripherals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing effective asset management strategies, ensuring compliance with company policies, and optimising asset utilisation to maximise cost efficiency. The IT Asset Manager will work collaboratively with various IT teams, procurement, and finance departments to maintain accurate asset records, conduct audits, and support procurement decisions. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and security of our IT infrastructure.
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
  • Asset Management Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive IT asset management strategies, policies, and procedures to efficiently track and control the entire lifecycle of hardware, software, and related assets.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of IT assets, including purchase details, maintenance history, warranties, and software licenses. Perform regular audits to reconcile physical and recorded inventories.
  • Procurement Support: Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure that asset management considerations are integrated into the procurement process. Provide technical insights during the acquisition of new assets to align with business needs and budgetary constraints.
  • Asset Deployment and Retirement: Coordinate the allocation of assets to end-users, ensuring proper asset configurations and adherence to security protocols. Manage asset retirement processes, including data sanitisation and responsible disposal.
  • Cost Optimisation: Continuously monitor asset usage and identify opportunities to optimise costs through efficient utilisation, redeployment, or lease vs. purchase decisions.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure that all IT assets are in compliance with relevant licensing, regulatory, and security requirements. Implement measures to safeguard assets against theft, loss, or unauthorised access.
  • Asset Reporting: Generate and maintain accurate reports on asset status, usage, and financials. Present reports to management and other stakeholders regularly.
  • Asset Lifecycle Planning: Collaborate with IT teams to plan and forecast future asset requirements based on technology trends, business growth, and hardware/software end-of-life considerations.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance asset management processes to optimise efficiency and minimise risks.

About You

Essential Skills & Knowledge:
 
  • Proven experience as an IT Asset Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware, software, and licensing concepts.
  • Familiarity with asset management tools and software.
  • Solid knowledge of IT procurement processes and contract management.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of IT compliance, data security, and privacy regulations.
