About The Role

As a Senior 3D developer at Wren, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our innovative 3D technologies, delivering an industry leading experience for our end users of our suite of visualization tools.

Working with other developers, and working closely with the 3D Artist team, you will play a key part in building software that serves our expanding customer base, in an environment that encourages learning and the advancement of your technical skills as a developer.

This role offers a unique blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving and collaboration, ideal for anyone passionate about pushing the boundaries of 3D.

This role is based on-site in Barton-Upon-Humber, North Lincolnshire. Hybrid options are available, but you will be required to be in head office a minimum of 2 days per week.  

Main responsibilities:
  • Working independently and proactively to identify potential issues and inefficiencies within our existing 3D systems and pipelines.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, and actively contributing to R&D efforts to enhance our 3D capabilities.
  • Contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle

  • Work on the architecture, planning and design of other innovative internal systems

  • Work with other developers, business stakeholders and wider development team to understand the initial scope for a new project

  • Using technology such as:
    • C#
    • Python
    • C++
    • Unity
    • Blender

About You

Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience with real-time computer graphics development
  • Minimum 4 years experience in software development
  • Strong maths skills
  • Keen desire to research and adapt to emerging technologies
  • Ability to develop complex algorithms
  • Experience of using version control systems (such as Git) as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to describe technical issues to a nontechnical audience
  • Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
  • A passion for adhering to coding standards and clean code
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience with automated testing concepts & approaches
  • Experience of working with VR or AR
  • Knowledge of design patterns, with practical experience of implementing them
  • Experience of agile project methodologies (and its impact on iterative design)
  • Experience of working in a continuous integration environment
  • Familiar with Linux or Mac OS
  • Has previously worked for a retailer / understands retail process
