About The Role
As a Senior JavaScript Developer, you’ll become an integral part of our agile development team, working with the latest technology on ground-breaking projects to keep the business at the forefront of our industry. You’ll work on the development and maintenance of our industry leading CAD based planning system which is used by our Kitchen Designers to bring our customers dream to reality, as well as working on the architecture, planning and design of other innovative internal systems used across our manufacturing, transport, installations and customer service departments.

You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor and develop Graduate, Junior and Intermediate level Developers in your team to further enhance their skills and knowledge.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain Wren’s custom built, cutting edge applications
  • Write clean code that is clear and understandable by others
  • Contribute to project specifications and estimations
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Work with business stakeholders and development team to understand the initial scope for a new project 
  • Mentor and support junior members of the team

About You
Desired skills and knowledge:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing and maintaining JavaScript applications
  • Thorough knowledge of TypeScript, React, NodeJS, HTML5, Less and Canvas
  • Experience using utilities and build tools including Docker, Webpack, NPM, ESLint and Karma.
  • Thorough understanding of JavaScript programming concepts including mixins, object composition and scope.
  • Experience with software design patterns such as Flux, AOP and modularity.
  • Experience of using Version Control systems such as Git as part of a team
  • Experience of automated testing 
  • Experience of Agile project methodologies and its impact on iterative design
  • Experience of working in a continuous integration environment 
  • A good understanding of maths and an ability to develop complex algorithms.
  • Familiar with Linux or Mac OS
  • Experience of retail and/or manufacturing environments and processes
  • Experience working with AWS and its features
